"A very scarce instructional guide to hunting big game in India, illustrated throughout, and here in its first edition. The first edition of this very scarce work. Illustrated with numerous plates, including contemporary photographs and illustrated maps. Butt was known as 'the wizard of hunting', due to his 45 years spent hunting big game in India's Central Provinces, killing his first big cat aged seventeen. He here relays his wealth of knowledge on the subject of hunting, accompanying instruction and educational information with biographical accounts of his own experiences. With a focus on the tiger, the hunting of deer, ocelot, jaguar, and puma are also detailed."
